Amadeus seems to smooth the ends of any pasted audio, probably in an attempt to avoid pops. I don't want this; I want to be able to exactly specify the audio. For instance, I'd like to cut ten cycles of a sine and paste it into an area of silence, in order to test latency and response of some digital audio equipment. But, I can't do this; when I paste the sines, a smoothing function is added to the ends. The same happens at the beginning and end of a generated file; I can't make a sound that, when played and looped, makes a continuous sine.
Is there any way to disable this? If not, may I suggest an advanced setting that does so?

That sounds like it might be the result of having ‘Smart Editing’ selected in; Preferences > General > Editing. Try unselecting it.
If that’s not the solution, then I might be out of ideas!
