Trouble converting FLACs to Apple Lossless

Post by greguva »

I have recently purchased several albums of FLAC files in Hi-Def format (96 or 192 khz, 24 bit). I would like to convert them to Apple Lossless format so that I can play them in iTunes. However, I'm running into problems.

When the files are opened by AO, they are read as 32 bit - I'm not quite sure what that means, since they are ostensibly 24 bit, but I can live with it. But when I try to convert the files, either individually or batched, they convert as 48 khz. I have changed the default sound output to 96 khz to no avail.

I have no trouble converting the files to 92 khz/24 bit Apple Lossless files using another program. Any ideas as to what the problem is? Thanks.

This is a bug in the current version: it will default Apple Lossless files to 48kHz. I will
try to fix this ASAP. Regards,

I have used a little utility called XLD for this many times and it works perfectly!
