Amadeus seems to smooth the ends of any pasted audio, probably in an attempt to avoid pops. I don't want this; I want to be able to exactly specify the audio. BTW, small bug: if you're playing an audio file with the "Loop playback" checkbox turned off, and you turn it on while the file is playing, it does NOT loop when it gets to the end. "Loop playback" seems to only matter at the moment when you start playback.

Sorry I haven't responded; the drives don't spin down for a while, and I only remember the problem when Amadeus freezes on start, which is too late to do the sample... I just did a sudo pmset -a disksleep 1 to speed up the spin-down process, but even with the drives confirmed spun down Amadeus start...
