NEED EMERGENCY HELP! Itunes adding time?
i have to submit a cd today to my state arts council. i have some live tracks that i edited in Amadeus Pro to cut out stage patter. the edited tracks play exactly as i edited them in iTunes 8 from the hard drive however, when burned to a cd the music ends where i intend but now there is a long gap of silence until the original time of the track is reached.
for instance, on one edited track the music ends at 5:15 when played from my hard drive in iTunes and iTunes moves on to the next song. but the same track when burned - the music ends at 5:15 and then there is 1:43 seconds of SILENCE until the next song plays. the music plus the silence equals the length of time for the original unedited track! (the gap between songs in iTunes is set to 0, btw.)
this stuff has to be postmarked Monday and I am required to submit a live performance CD. does any one have any idea what could be going on?
this is what the end of the track looks like:

cd burning software automatically inserts a 2 sec pause between tracks.
Set this pause to zero in the burn dialog and you should hear no silence.
iTunes is more tricky than other burn software. You have to switch off the
feature that makes tracks blend into each other (in preferences).
good luck

TAGS! Bingo! Thank you. under Options in the Info/Tags window there are checkboxs for the start and stop times. the stop time was showing the length of the original track. i changed the stop time to the length of the edited track and burned the disc again. PERFECT! the tracks play correctly and show the length of the edited track.GerardBik wrote:The tag you probably need is the last one: "Aaneensluitend album" in Dutch. In English it might be "Continuous album".
Hope you make it today.
interestingly enough, the old track length still shows in the main iTunes window for the edited tracks. don't know if this is an iTunes quirk or Amadeus. who cares - my grant application is saved!
