Is the Amadeus file format compressed?

Hello,

I would like to know if the tracks in an Amadeus file are lossless compressed or are saved without compression.

IMHO, that would be great that the Amadeus format uses for example the FLAC compression (or another one) to save the tracks. That would save place on disk (or perhaps compression is already used).

They don't use any compression. The reason is that the Amadeus format
is intended as an intermediary format optimised for speed. Regards,

The last thing you want is compression while you are working on a file. This would result in compression and decompression every time you saved it, which wouldn't do the quality any good - and as Martin says would slow you up. Once finished you can save to any of the compressions methods available.

It's worth considering an external hard disk to record to and work on for audio - this will give you better performance than using the internal system disk, and save strain on it; and prices have been coming down considerably.

I think the OP was thinking about lossless compression algorithms, so
quality would not be an issue. I can see that the is a case for it,
maybe I'll add it as an option at some stage... Regards,
