Sticky Situation with a recording

I had a "Record To New File" window active and a the item in concern already recorded. I didn't have the "Save while recording" option checked and stepped away for a second only to find when I came back someone had hit record!

Is there a way to retrieve the previous recording????

In principle, this should just have appended some new stuff to the
existing recording. If the person closed the window, and hit "Don't
Save" when it was asked whether the recording should be saved, then I
am afraid that not much can be done. Maybe a disk recovery utility can
retrieve the temporary files if the machine hasn't been used much in
the meantime. These files have names like
"Temp_Amad_000001.amadeustemp". Regards,
