Any way to remove "tunnel" sound?

Post by robert_theory »

A CD given to me to digitize was recorded with an intense tunnel
sound, (not really an echo sound), for the first half of the CD. Is
there a way to fix that with Amadeus Pro? I've tried all that I can
think of.
You won't be able to get rid of the problem completely, but you might
make some headway by using a parametric EQ to "search and destroy."
Select a high Q and a 10-20 dB gain, and start moving the hump
around. You'll be able to hear when the hump coincides with the
"tunnel" resonance. Leave it at that frequency. Then turn the hump
into a notch by changing the gain to -10 to -20 dB (or even
lower). You can vary the Q to fine-tune the result.
