Cropping

Post by Sammet »

I've just downloaded the software and read the instructions twice but can't figure out how to cut bits out of audio tapes I've saved on my Mac. It's mostly chat and I mainly just want to cut the bits where it changes from side A to side B.

If someone could point me in the right direction please I will be most grateful.

Select the region you want to cut and delete it (delete key)

Personally I like to then do a cross fade left (or right) at the cut
region so there is no sharp change in the background noise.

Even easier: if smart editing is on (which it is by default), then a short crossfade (parametrisable in the preferences) is automatically inserted. Regards,

It would be good if the Smart Editing crossfade length was quickly adjustable without having to go to Preferences each time. For example, when doing an edit, one could shorten or lengthen the crossfade and preview it with the different durations, perhaps with just a quick +/- key push, instead of going back and forth to change the Preference settings.
