When saving an edited wav file that started as an 8K / 8-bit Mu-Law, Amadeus Pro 2 will automatically convert it to an 8K / 16-bit PCM wav. Why doesn't it save in the same bit-rate and encoding as the original file?

In addition, the lower-left corner display showing the bit-rate and sample rate is not accurate either. It also shows 8K Mu-Law wavs as 16-bit / 8K. This makes it very difficult to work with.
