Not a valid Wave file

Post by steadyedie »

Hi,
I've had no problems using Amadeus Pro for over 4 years and I almost use it every day.
Normally use it for editing sound into small bites and increasing the volume.
From about the beginning of December something has changed and I don't know where from.
Now what happens is for example if I edit a sound and increase the volume then go and edit it again it will either not open Amadeus editor or it will come up with the following error 'An error occurred while reading the file. This does not appear to be a valid Wave file.'
I'm not sure what is causing it as I'm not doing anything different from normal.
The other thing is I can edit a file and reload it in to Amadeus, not change anything come out and send it back in again and I get the error.
There is no way it will let me put the file back into Amadeus.
What I have to do is go to a saved same file and put that in and start again.
Any one any idea's what it going on?
Regards,
Neil.

Hi, could you please send me a Dropbox link to one of these files created by Amadeus and which you have trouble opening again? Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,
I have dropbox but not sure how to send files to you?
I've placed one good and one bad file in there, not sure what to do next?

Okay. Here’s how you do it.
1. Focus on the file you want to send.
2. Now, pop open your short cut menu. Look for, Copy Drop box link. Click this.

3. Now, Send Martin an e-mail in which the link is.

That will open a page from which he can download the needed file.

HTH.

Thanks. Also, make sure the files are in the "Public" subfolder of your Dropbox folder.

Sorry can't find 'Copy drop box link', can't find 'public' folder either.
Only used it to receive items once.
Can't I just send as an attachment to a email address?
Neil.

Got it, thanks a lot! There was indeed a bug in the parsing of wave files which caused this problem. The version at

http://www.hairersoft.com/Downloads/AmadeusPro.zip

should fix it. Regards,

Blimey that was quick.
Is that an update just for me or a new version or just a fix for my version.
Got to find my license key now, should have it saved somewhere.
Any idea what caused it?
Neil.

When ever Martin posts an intermitant update like that, everybody can go grab it. You will not need your license key for it due to it’s not being a major release. PS. Remember, to copy something from your clip board in to anything, (whether we’re talking about the body of an e-mail message or a text file or an audio or video project) use Command+v to copy and Option+command+v to move.

Reason I was looking for the licence key is because its asking for it.
I got it from the apps store I think, it was a while back 11 Feb 2012.

Thanks Martin.
I now have 2 versions in the Applications folder, one with just Amadeus pro and one with Amadeus pro (MAS) both asking for registration key?
I've gone to the Licence manager and selected the Amadeus pro (MAS) and it did say at the top completed or words to that effect.
Do I need to remove one version?
Thank you.
Regards,
Neil.
