need a way to bend pitch of recordings

Post by Ray Foret Jr »

Can anybody on here suggest a plugin that I can install to varry the pitch of a recording? Of course, amadeus Pro can adjust the pitch of a recording just fine: but, I need to have varriable control or sliding speed instead of just an abrupt adjustment. Here's the problem. The recording I'm working with starts at the correct speed, but then, it tends to increase in speed and I want to bring it back down. I can do this much more effectivly if I can actually varry the speed downward rather than make an abrupt adjustment. Got any ideas? I'm running a Mac book Pro 15 inch from November 2009 with Mac OS 10.0.3. The latest version of Amadeus Pro. Thanks. Sincerely,The Constantly Barefooted Ray

It would take some head scratching and a lot of work, and it isn't a plugin, but you could probably get it done with SoundHack's Varispeed if you are sufficiently persistent and patient.

Thanks. I went there and noticed he's got some audio unit plugins as part of a bundled three-pack which can be installed in to the usual location for such things: that is, ~Library/Audio/Plugins

Years ago a wrote a little C program to do this; unfortunately I can't find it any more (I looked for it several years back). It was relatively easy to do. I think I used text edit and the C compiler on the Mac. Basically, all I did was interpolate and create a new time scale.
