Playback of *all other* tracks while recording
Moving from Audacity, I am used to the default "record new track" feature to automatically trigger the simultaneous playback of all the other tracks.
I read the documentation and it only describes the process of enabling playback of the new track during recording. Can someone please clearly describe the correct technique in Amadeus for enabling playback of other tracks during recording?

Playback all *all other* tracks while recording
Doesn't "Sound -> Record to new Track…" behave in the expected way for you?

Oh, definitely progress here.
My first problem is that I would "Add a new mono track" and then click on the empty track, and then "Record". This records to the new track, but doesn't play back the other tracks.
You are right, if I "Record to a new track" it plays back the other tracks during the recording.
So now the final piece of the puzzle. I have a long track, eg 20 mins, and I want to add some sound halfway through the track. (Not insert it into the existing track.)
1) I have the document with a 20 min track.
2) I "Add a new mono track"
3) I click on the new track at the 10 min mark, and it adds a red marker.
4) I "Record" for a few mins
5) My new sound is recorded onto the new track at the red marker.
Is there a way to play back the other tracks while I do this? I swear that *sometimes* I have done it...

Yes, just click into one of the "old" tracks at the 10 minutes mark before hitting "Record to New Track". Regards,Is there a way to do this? I swear that *sometimes* I have done it...
