File Size Limits?

Post by misnoma »

good news:

Amadeus Pro will open a 2.5Gb stereo recording of a long musical show and let you spend hours inserting markers between scenes and musical cues.

bad news:

Amadeus Pro will not let you *Save* this file because of "file size limitations".

This made me sad.

(I sort of rescued the work by splitting by markers, but still . . .)

update:
The split-by-markers did not work. ie. I only seem to have got the latter parts of the file.

Is this another limitation?

Grrrr

update3:

I've started over. Seems that saving in Amadeus ".amad" format works. AIF does not.

The limit may be in your disk's file system.
For instance FAT 16 allows max 2GB blocks.

The AIFF and WAVE specifications do not allow for files over 2GB. Technically, files between 2GB and 4GB are possible, but any file over 2GB is in violation of the specs. You can use the CAF format for example to save files of arbitrary size. Regards,

Martin
