Version 2.0.1.
Subject: old interview tapes.
Problem: they're somewhat muffled; occasionally a hum.
When I try either denoising or taking the hum out by reducing lower frequency with equalizer, I get a crackling, like static.
The crackling is even there when I set multiband denoising to flat. (And, incidently, the voice is noticeable distorted, as well.)
The static only occurs when the subject is speaking, not when there's only background noise.
The original isn't that bad. (There is no hint of the static on it.) I just wanted to remove some of the bassy mushiness. (The goal is to put it in an eBook for iTunes store.)
Very possible I'm missing something, as I'm not a sound engineer. Thanks for the help.

Just to check: does this occur with version 2.0.2 as well?

Do you thing you'd be able to send me a short (maybe 10 seconds) excerpt
of that file you were working on? I just tried to play with the denoising function
with different settings and it seems to work fine... Regards,
Martin

For the record: the version at
http://www.hairersoft.com/Downloads/AmadeusPro.zip
fixes this. The problem only occurred when processing mono files that are
opened as 32-bit floating point files. Regards,
Martin
