Feature request for working with multiple documents

Post by kv »

To ease the handling of multiple documents, I's like to request two essential commands, available as menu entries (so I can reach them with QuicKeys shortcuts), plus one enhancement:

A: "Save All" (save all open documents with changes) - We now have "Close All" but that's not enough

B: Two menu entries (but at least one of them): "Next Window" and "Previous Window" just as in the Finder, to switch between documents by shortcut.

C: If multiple documents are opened at once, t would be great if Amadeus could sort the windows in the same way as they appear in the "window" menu (sorted by name).

Hi,

the switch between the windows should work with "cmd + >" and "cmd + <".

Regards Jan

Hi Jan,
sorry to contradict, but these commands are set for "Fade In" and "Fade Out". Just take a look in the menu.

Sure! Sorry, my fault. At the moment you write these lines I recognize the mistake. Yes, this feature is missing. Hello Martin ... ?

[CMD]` and [CMD][SHIFT]` are system-wide for cycling through an application's open
windows.

kv expressed with much marked refinement of phraseology:
B: Two menu entries (but at least one of them): "Next Window" and "Previous Window"
just as in the Finder, to switch between documents by shortcut.

You can redefine the key shortcuts for Fade In and Fade Out in the
"Keyboard" system prefs. This should free them up (I haven't tried it though,
so I cannot guarantee it). Regards,

Martin

Hi Mike,
not with other keyboards than US. I use a German one.

Hi Martin,
I tried, but it doesn't work. Sorry.
