Hi everyone. My first post, but a longtime user of Amadeus Pro.
Problem is that I am now getting no sound through to my software.
First, some details. I am using an iMac intel with 4GB RAM, OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.6. I have an Edirol FA-66 audio interface with firewire connection to my Mac. I have checked Mac System Pref. Sound control panel and Edirol is recognized and its output sound gets this far. From this point on it gets lost somewhere in the computer because when trying to record on Amadeus Pro no sound comes through. I have checked Amadeus preferences and Edirol is recognized as the input source. I have opened the advanced settings panel and rear channels 3 and 4, which are connected to my stereo system, are routed through. (I don't use mikes on channels 1 and 2.) Everything appears to be hooked up correctly but still no sound to record. Very frustrating. If anyone has the magic answer, would they please supply it and make my day!

Have you tried using the other channels instead in Amadeus Pro?
Maybe the numbering is different from what you think....

I don't know if you're familiar with my FA-66 interface but the rear channels 3 and 4 receive audio output from my stereo system and appear in Amadeus preferences as routed to channels 3 and 4. Channels 1 and 2 are for mikes only, and channels 5 and 6 are for digital inputs, which I don't use. So there's no way I can change channels in Amadeus, as far as I can see, unless I have misunderstood the system. The manual is of no help in this respect. It's frustrating because I know the sound is entering the computer. I have checked that out in the system preferences sound panel, but from there on it disappears! Maybe it's a computer problem. The alternative would be a direct connection from my stereo setup to the Mac's audio input and circumvent the interface altogether, but then I can't tailor the sound. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion. If you can think of any other approach, fire away!

My point is that I don't know a priori if what Amadeus Pro calls "Channels 3 & 4"So there's no way I can change channels in Amadeus, as far as I can see, unless I have misunderstood the system.
is really also what is labelled as "Channels 3 & 4" on the interface. (I am not familiar
with it, so I don't know how they would show up.) If they are different, it is not
impossible that the correct thing to do is to actually record from "Channels 1 & 2"
or "Channels 5 & 6".... Regards,
Martin

Another idea: what if you try to record in the 2+2+1
configuration (5 channels at a time)? This way, you would
see if there is anything at all getting into Amadeus Pro. Also,
do you get some kind of error message logged to the Console
(Applications/Utilities)? Regards,
Martin

Have just tried recording on Audacity, but there's no sound there either. So it looks to be a computer problem of some kind. Will do some further testing to try and locate the problem. Thanks for your help so far.
