Joining two or more audio files sequentially

Joining two or more audio files sequentially
Hi, I've searched the manual and the FAQ but not found the answer to whether it is possible in Amadeus to take two or more audio files of the same type (.wav or .aiff) and join them together sequentially, so that they play as a single file, with no audible disturbance at the joins. If so, is there any 'assistance' in achieving the precise joining point so that the joins are smooth, with no audible clicks or disturbance?
Thanks in advance for any information,
Richard

Joining two or more audio files sequentially
The way to achieve this, is to add file nr two to file nr 1 and create a new, combined file.
I am not sure if this is what you want. For playing a sequence of separate files I use iTunes.
To avoid clicks, use "Selection>Extend to Crossing" when selecting parts for copying. This way the waveform begins and ends at the zero point.
Smooth an existing click by zooming in, selecting just the transition and applying "Effects>Interpolate"
gerards regards

Thanks Gerard, I'm not sure I completely understand what you're suggesting, but your first line is what I need to do - to combine two or more files into one single file and to save that. I know iTunes can play several files continuously, but that isn't what I want to do.
So, Amadeus can join audio files together, then...?
...and when you bring two files together to meet, do they conveniently 'snap' together (or similar) like they do in Cool Edit Pro?
Regards,
Richard

There are many ways to join two files. Here are two.
Just experiment a lot with your tracks, thats how we all learned it.
As long as you keep the originals safe, you can't do any harm.
1 Open both files, select all of file 2, copy. Go to file 1 (Do a
"Save as" first!!) put the cursor at the end of the file and paste.
2 Open file 1, drag file 2 from the finder into the window of file 1.
Now you have two parallel tracks. Drag file 2 to where you want it to
start. There is a handle at both the left and right side of the track
to drag tracks around. When you are happy, tracks can be merged or
the document flattened to turn it into a single track.
Happy editing

Richard:
Unless I misunderstood you, joining two files is extremely easy. All you have to do is:
Click on Sound, Join Files. This will open a box where you will drag in the 2 or more files you want to join. Then click on Join and you will have a seamless track. A marker is placed between the 2 files. Simply remove it and save the file and you're done.
