I am trying to join some mp3 files to reduce the total number of files when played on my iPod. When I use join files I do not get the same quality setting that the file shows. And when I save the resulting file it usually comes out much lower in quality than the original files even though I tell it to save in a quality near the original.
Then when I tell the file to just open in AP, even though the get info on the file says it has a 56K bitrate the resulting window shows 16 bit / 22.1 kHz, and the resulting saved file is very much reduced in audio quality.
Are there some settings I am missing?

Save Quality of files
Hi,

For a decent quality Mp3 file, you probably want a bitrate of 128k; 56k seems rather low.

Bitrate is *not* the same as sampling rate. See for exampleI am trying to join some mp3 files to reduce the total number of files when played on my iPod.
