vst Excitifier

Post by relentlesscactus »

I used to use a great vst plugin called excitifier. I saw it got that intel error, so I downloaded a 2006 version, but I'm not sure if this works on intel or if I just don't know where to put it. I also see Martin says vst's have Audio Unit equivalents, but I don't see one. Anyone? Can I use Excitifier or equivalent, or do I need to buy a Power-PC for this one function? I also noted on vst Martin says "yet" on conversion--does that mean we should be expecting intel versions soon?

NEVERMIND!

'TWAS at the bottom, an older version pre-intel at the top of the list. Works fine!

The (temporary?) solution I use is to run Excitifier in trusted old Amadeus II.
Intel iMac, OSX 10.4.11

Bikster--

I downloaded a bunch off the web as it isn't too clear what the new one is. When you have the right version, it will be of creation date 1-26-06. It works great! And the preset behavior is so much better . . . it asks you before changing . . . I remember in the old days I would F-up my presets. And the preview works great too. I'm very impressed and my recordings are going to sound so much better. This is a great preset and it literally changes everything to have it up and working.

If you can't find it, post and I'll see if I can figure out which link I got it from.

Got it!
Thanks for waking me up.
Glenn must have updated it since I last checked 3 years ago.

The preset behaviour improvement was part of Martin's ceaseless work on Amadeus.

Martin/Forum,

I am trying now to use Excitifier again on 10.6.8 on an Intel machine, and am again getting the error. However, strangely, I cannot find the 2006 version of Excitifier I spoke of before.

Is there an equivalent plug-in, or a way to make the VST work? I have had amazing results with this plug-in for enhancing live recordings -- I NEED to have this work!

Any help appreciated.

Gerard,

Thanks, that did the trick!

I had a very unfortunate crash a year ago, and most of my stuff is on the crashed machine  . This saved my ass, thanks.
