How do I open MP3 files in iTunes?

I have converted a file to an MP3 file and tried to open it in iTunes. It appears under the name 'Batch.MP3'. When I try to open it in iTunes, iTunes refuses it. How can I solve this problem?

iTunes should open an mp3 without any problem.
Maybe there is something wrong with the file. Try converting the original again.
Or let iTunes do the conversion. It is almost as good.

Make a copy of the original file and experiment with it. That's the way to learn more.
