.m4b format

Post by Bull »

Good afternoon,

I use AP to break .amad files into several files, splitting according to markers that I assign. These go to iTunes as .m4a files. Once there I convert them to type Audiobooks for use in iBooks on my iPhone.

I can save some steps if the file type is .m4b instead of .m4a. Apparently these two formats are the same except for the extension. iTunes then recognizes the .m4b files as Audiobooks without my intervention.

I found that I can manually change the extensions and all works well, although that takes a little text editing and using the 'mv' command in Terminal to change the names in Finder.

Would it be difficult to have AP export files as .m4b when splitting the .amad file?

Thanks,

would be fine to be able to do it in one app (like Amadeus), but in my case I'm using an app called "Audiobook Builder" (costs $4,95) and works very well, giving some useful extra functionalities on the spot.
Very easy and fast (and cheap)
