crossings guard, v.2

crossings guard, v.2
I posted this question a few weeks ago, and got no response. I'm trying once
again, in the hope that someone with an answer didn't see it the previous
time.
-------
With the old Amadeus II, one was able to control how the program handles
selection extensions to waveform crossings, via a preference setting under
Selection > Crossings. That panel allows both Up and Down to be turned
either on or off.
I found no similar option in Amadeus Pro, and the Extend to Crossing
function behaves in a way that I can't quite even follow, let alone control.
In short, it seems to overselect, going to a crossing somewhat further down
the road than to the next available one.
Is there any way at all to regain the kind of control that was previously
available? If not, can someone help me understand how the program decides
(in terms of both length of selection and of up/down factor) where to extend
to?
Many thanks for any help on this matter,

Hi Phil, I have no idea how to adjust this either. Maybe it does it based on whatever you have selected? I’m not totally sure. I often use it thoguh, to get nice smooth edits if I’ve deleted something for example, and it’s worked well for me as it is actually.

crossings guard, v.2
Hi Phil, in Amadeus Pro, "Extend to crossing" extends the selection to the nearest upcrossings (so downcrossings are ignored). Regards,
Martin

I believe that Amadeus II extended to either up- or downcrossing, whichever
came next. That was a lot more useful for me, as it allowed for much smaller
selections (especially useful when deleting a section).
I wonder if it's possible to incorporate that same functionality into
Amadeus Pro, perhaps as a preference setting.
