Re: true mono?

http://www.fluxhome.com/products/Freewares/stereotool Yes, I forgot about that one... It does exactly what's needed. After installation you'll find it under Effects > Audio Units > Flux > STTool. But since Amadeus doesn't have any "insert" slots, to use it you have to open the plugin and ...

A stereograph or a correlation meter would be the right tools for that. (Maybe it's time for a feature request... :)

I can only second the recommendation of ClickRepair. It has its quirks and the interface is a bit, well, strange, but the results are great.

Yum, B77, I have one too. The high speed model with 7.5/15 ips. These are quite scarce even here in Switzerland. I used to use it for mixdown in my home studio before I went digital about 6-7 years ago.

a Shure M97eX cartridge I bought one last year for a Thorens and I returned it to the shop the very next day. Luckily I got my money back. I showed the salesperson a sonograph comparison of the M97eX, my old Technics T4P cartrige on another turntable and a no name cheap cartrige I've been temporari...

Topic: 96K with Amadeus Pro? Use on G3 iBook?

I used to work with iBook G3 for some "light" audio recording. I have a M-Audio FW410 which is capable of 24/96. However, I never went that far in terms of audio quality. Mostly I used to work with Logic Express 6, recording to 24/44.1. The 700 MHz processor was at its limit pretty quickly...

Re: Note on keyboard shortcuts

An ellipsis is not used in menus, I think because it looks too small. It depends on the font you're using. Some are more narrow, some are wider than three periods in a row. Take any monospaced font like Monaco or Courier and you will find that its ellipsis is indeed very narrow because it has to fi...

I've been editing keyboard shortcuts for years now (albeit not through the Keyboard preference pane which was always buggy on some localised versions of Mac OS X, but by directly editing each plist which also allows more flexibility by manually entering unusual shortcuts which the pref pane would ot...

From what I can say, there is a bug, probably in the QuickTime framework, where Apple Lossless (which uses also the m4a container) tags created outside iTunes are not editable or not even readable by iTunes. This happens not only to files created/edited by Amadeus, but also with files processed with...

For "hi-end" metering there's Spectre . I purchased it just recently at an attractive discount price, but even at its regular price it should be worth every penny. Its flexibility is amazing! Unfortunately Spectre is not fully compatible with Amadeus, unless you install Soundflower (and yo...

Re: still no vertical scale/grid in amadeus pro 1.3.3

The version at <http> implements an option-"+" (or option-"=") and option-"-" shortcut for that... Hi Martin, thanks for that! So far it works as expected, except that "Zoom to Document" should in my opinion reset the vertical zoom as well (which it doesn't n...

I forgot to add that Martin stated in another post that Amadeus Pro is utilizing Core Audio for the conversion, hence my reference to it.

Personally, for converting more critical files I use Logic Express 8 which has several professional dithering algorithms built in.

Unlikely.
I wondered, too. I searched the web and found some articles about Core Audio's built-in Sample Rate Conversion (SRC) obviously beaing of rather poor quality, at least in Tiger. I didn't find anything about Leopard though.
