When you install the free Developer Tools, there's the AULab. That should probably do what you need.Shotster wrote:It's the real-time aspect that is precisely what I want. I want to modify my voice in real time. Recording is not an option for my needs.

Simple rules to avoid distortion, i.e. digital clipping: 1) Use a 24-bit interface to capture your source. Current Macs are all capable of recording 24-bit audio using the line input; it's not exactly professional hi-end quality, but it will perfectly suffice for vinyl digitalizations, or, like in y...

but DeNoise gave me a lot of signal distortion - probably needs more trial and error on my part. DeNoise is just as good as CR, but you can't expect wonders. Its manual describes the dilemma on page 33: it's always a compromise of reducing the noise level vs. affecting the actual sound. The best wa...

As someone who was new to Amadeus last year, basically I found the current manual to be well written and informative, particularly compared to my other favorite audio editor. But then again, I'm definitely no audio rookie, so for most parts I have figured it out very quickly. That said, the manual d...

Freeware solutions: Soundflower JackOSX Shareware: WireTap AudioHijack Soundflower is simple and usually works fine, however the most recent version is not necessarily the best one. On my PowerBook G4 with Tiger, I still use v1.1, while on MacBook Pro with Leopard I got the best results with v1.2.1....

Re: batch processing
- rename the process with which to change the sample rate and bit depth from 'Sound Quality' to 'SR/Bit Depth Conversion' or something more meaningful (I spent much too long trying to figure out which of the selections would SR convert and change bit depth -- and then forgetting which terminology w...

Re: Overlarge Audio Unit window
So even getting this into a Cocoa application is a horrible hack. Out of interest, I have also written about this problem to the Wave Editor support team, as it's an issue in their app as well. Since they are "all-Cocoa", it will be interesting to hear what they have to say about it. In a...

Re: Overlarge Audio Unit window
But ideally it should wrap tall GUI into a scrollbar window. Agreed. It may be harder than it seems. I checked with other software (Wave Editor, Logic) and neither does. In Logic 8 you can at least hide the top part of the wrapper so that all of the Granulator's controls are accessable. That works ...

Re: Overlarge Audio Unit window
The display on my Powerbook is also 1440x900 and the controls are visible Alright, that brought me to another idea... I made a window screenshot (cmd-shift-4 + move over the window + space bar + click) which shows that indeed almost all but the Amadeus buttons are actually visible, the lowest slide...

First, I'd contact the person who did the Mac programming of this plugin (see their site) and tell them to make it better . It's apparent that it's pretty useless as such. And the plugin package doesn't have an editable GUI, so there's no way for us to hack it this time... :) Other than that, there ...

Good to know it worked. Yes, it might pay to have them sorted. I might likely process all my plugins as well when I'll have some time, since I really don't care much to know who programmed them, rather than what they do.... Just keep in mind that any plugin update will revert to its default menu. If...

That would be a great hack! Experimentally I just checked a couple of AUs and found at least a relatively easy way to modify each one by one: 1) Get a resource editor. Rezilla is freeware and it should work just fine. 2) Open the AU package and navigate to /Contents/Resources/<plugin_name>.rsrc 3) D...
