Surely you have this sorted by now, but for others who come along: Waveform displays are scalable, vertically and horizontally. Either way can be adjusted so that the view looks like flattened waveforms. The way to determine levels is by (in AP) doing this: Menue bar->Analyze->Waveform Statistics. Y...

Feature Req: Track Volume numerical indicators (percentage)
Is there a way to see/implement numerical values for the track volume sliders?
Thanks

Possible to emulate output bus
I don't think it's possible, but does anyone know of a way to emulate an output or summing bus? One in real time, not flattening channels. Something to hang correlation meters, reverbs, and so on from.

You can adjust tracks precisely in time by using something like Voxengo's free Sound Delay plugin. You may enter amounts by distance or by milliseconds - or larger values. If you want a single track moved forward, you may have to delay the others. Remember, any spill on the mic's will be delayed as ...

It's normal (pun not intended) for lossy compression to raise the level. The amount varies according to compression and content. Sometimes it's only a fraction of a dBFS, other times much more. So levels should always be checked after. Some dedicated converters (Codec Toolbox) will check for this an...

Broadcast Wave Support Request
Hello Martin:
Any chance of implementing Broadcast Wave support in AP?
It would be (really!) nice if the BW metadata was able to kept, read, etc.
Thanks always!

Hi Josh- This is just one user's reaction, and I'm not affiliated with Martin. I'm often baffled by the usefulness of social media. In addition to writing directly to Martin (who for years has answered very expeditiously), and the use of this forum where Martin posts periodically, what would Twitter...

Re: grouping tracks
Is there a way to group tracks together so that if I move one, the other moves the same distance. If I cut and paste one part of one track, it cuts and pastes the same section of the other track. Thanks. Hi-I'm not expert at this, but I've found there are usually several ways to get the job done. H...

Re: Why does "hiss" roughen when fading out?
In general, in any recording I do, I have enough noise in the background that this effect would be totally invisible. Not trying no to extend this discussion further, but your point that self noise essentially makes the material "self dithered" is a good one. A one shot normalization and ...

Perhaps I can renew my suggestion, once again, that you look at some resources. One resource, already mentioned, is a book titled Mastering Audio by Bob Katz. Why not read it? Or there's this, intended only to be a brief introduction to the subject, so there's a limit on the specificity of the infor...

Re: Adding a translation track
I would like to be able to have him add an English translation track to the recording (much like simultaneous translation at the UN). Assuming your audience for this recording would be English: Try it concert broadcast or newscast style. Just record the English translation (you can make some practi...

Re: mp3 compatibility with Audition
I use Amadeus Pro on my laptop and Adobe Audition 1.5 (sigh) on my work computer. When I try to save mp3 to open in Audition it never works out. I think it's the codec. Amadeus uses AAC codec and Audition uses mpeg 1 layer III. Any tips on how to export/save to mp3 in Amadeus so that it'll open in ...
