Re: New feature discussion: faster precision editing?

For example, let's say I have 30 takes of a violin sonata, and a marked-up score telling me which takes have the best notes and measures. With Peak, I would use the "scrub" feature (click-hold) find the beginning of the clip, leave the cursor there, hold shift and do the same at the end o...

Hello Steve if you're still reading: Easy part for uum's and aaahhs: Just draw a selection around the offending sound. Listen to the excerpt and move the handles if needed, delete. Some other things: For "rocking" and deletion sorts of things: 1. Use DSP Quattro and you simply "click&...

Re: recorded sound is choppy

Thanks for the reply. I had anticipated those items you mention - energy saving settings, time machine, etc. Fortunately, I found that the problem disappeared when I tweaked the IO Buffer Size in Preferences/Sound/Advanced Settings. It had been set at the minimum of 512 and I set it to the maximum ...

Perhaps I'm missing something. The first assumption is that by "compressed files," what is referred to is "lossy" compressed files, not data compressed files. The idea, I think, is to have lossy files open as 32 bit floating (if desired). As you say, it doesn't work for MP3's - t...

Not Working? Open Compressed Files as 32 bit float

On the most recent build, my selection in Preferences of opening compressed files as 32 bit floating is not working. MP3 and .m4a are opening as 16 bit.

Deleted pref files, no luck.

Anyone else working or not? Thanks

Using old OS: 10.6.8

Hello bru: Your question re: "extracting the center" is a very good one, as this is not done by summing or subtracting right/left. There are applications that offer "center extraction," but I have no idea how this is achieved. I have one of those - Rx3 - and the feature is specif...

Mudhen: Please don't use that clerk again! In addition to the good advice above, I recommend that you work on smaller files. Everything will be faster (the temp files will be huge with a big recording), and remember they can be rejoined with sample accuracy after the fact, if you want to put everyth...

Re: multiple tracks on Amadeus II

Is it possible to add tracks to Amadeus II and mix down? Yes, you can add tracks and mix down, and you can do almost anything you can think of with a multi-track file, with an ease and simplicity that is pretty much unmatched. With regard to multi-track features, the distinction is between Lite and...

High Sample Rates

Since the subject of high sample rates surfaces now and again: 1. Sample Rate options displayed: Certain hardware doesn't necessarily offer every "standard" SR choice. So a device may offer 96k but not 88.2, or it may offer the rate but due to the way it is reported the software doesn't se...

And if claire needs a simple new interface, she should just get something cheap and cheerful that is **class compliant,** so no drivers needed. Drivers are always a hitch when anything - sometimes a very small thing - changes with the OS, and the only company that really commits itself to providing ...

In Amadeus Menue Bar, Select: Sound->Record to New File->Source. Set source as computer microphone. Level meters should undulate and you should be able to record. Be sure to unplug the Mobile Pre from the computer, then restart the computer before trying that. If this works, then you should investig...

Hello: I've used AP since I've had a G3, now I have the very first Intel offered (that was 2006!) and run 10.6.8. I've not having any problems - but that doesn't help you. The messages you are getting say "Waiting for Drive" and not "Waiting for Disc"? Have you burned data CD's i...
