Why do "identical" files have different checksums?

Just for fun I I did a test on how identical are two files when opened in APro and "saved as" again, with no changes applied. I tested the same with Peak Pro 6. The two AIFF (uncompressed, 24*96) files' checksums are NOT IDENTICAL. This worries me a bit. Can the reason be that the original...

Saving AIFs as FLACs...size from different apps

Hi: I saved a couple of 96/24 AIFs as FLACS with compression set to 8 (highest). I did this with Peak Pro 6 and Amadeus. Much to my surprise the sizes of the saved files differed by 6 MB: Original size: 1.3 GB FLAC saved from Peak Pro 6: 782.7 MB FLAC saved from Amadeus 2: 776.7 MB Do different Apps...

AP 1.4.1 still crashes with large files

The crashes I observed with earlier Amadeus Pro RAM versions continue in AP 1.4.1 with large files. RAM in options set to 1024MB. The 1.6GB (96/24) AIF-file loads up to a point and then AP crashes. I have no problem loading files of up to 900GB. Besides, load time is much slower than Peak Pro 5.21. ...

Pro 1.3.3 (RAM) crashes when openening more than one AIF

I am using Martin's RAM Amadeus Pro 1.3.3. Whenever I double click 2 or more AIF files to open simultaneously Amadeus crashes. Opening two .amad files is fine.

The non-RAM version of AP works fine with .aif and .amad.

MacPro 2008, OS 10.5.6, 16GB RAM

Any ideas? Thanks.
