Thank you. That build seems to have improved things. But is it available through the App Store (like my last update)? The one I downloaded from the link needs registering or it will only work for a short time in demo mode.

Regular crashing since 2.0.8 update

Since the latest update, I've been crashing during every session. I've submitted three of this evening's crash reports. No other problems are apparent with any other programs or computer operations. I had only one or two crashes in all the time using Amadeus until the update. Is it coincidence, or i...

Apple Lossless M4a files and batch processor

I've downloaded my first Apple Lossless files from a classical music label. I want to edit and burn these to CD. If I put them in the Amadeus Batch Processor and convert them into Amadeus files (or AIFF), will I be retaining the maximum possible quality or is there any other step involved? Is there ...

When I save an AIFF file to Amadeus format...

... all the track titles get messed up. After saving an AIFF file to Amadeus format, the resulting individual track titles will have a second set of numbers overlaid (on all but the very first track). I then have to go in and delete the top one in each instance to reveal the original track number/na...

Heat and fan noise with Amadeus playback

I am using a 2010 Macbook Pro (with OSX Lion) and Apogee Duet 2 audio interface (USB) and Focal powered monitors (or headphones). Can someone explain why, when I listen to an Amadeus file my computer heats up and the fans often start blowing loudly, but when I place the same file in iTunes and play ...

Weeks after starting with Amadeus, the crossfading tools are still something I haven't got used to. Crossfade to the Left, Crossfade to the Right, Crossfade... even when I use just "Crossfade", if I go to Undo it says "Undo Crossfade to the Left", even though I did not knowingly ...

Suggestion for "Silence"

The only thing I miss from Peak is where silence is indicated by a broken line rather than a continuous one. This makes it very easy to fade from precisely where the actual signal begins etc. After inserting silence in Amadeus I have to rely only on my ears, while with Peak I can instantly see where...

Re: CD tracks

Regarding the two seconds gap, you can set the duration of the gap between CD tracks in the burning dialog. Yes, but you can only set them to be all the same. If you set them all to '0' then does it set the first track to '0', which is against the Red Book spec? - and in any case you can't set some...

I don't understand this either. I import a CDR into Amadeus that I burned in another program (that told me it was inserting a two-second pause before the first track), but when I burn a fresh CDR from the resulting Amadeus file it is two seconds shorter than the original CDR. The readout from the CD...

Thanks for these tips. I'll experiment more with the crossfade functions over the weekend. I like the Smart Editing feature and the fact it's adjustable, but it's a pity that it's only adjustable via Preferences (as far as I know). Making very small changes to the Smart Edit/crossfade time to suit i...

Crossfade functions need some explanation

Perhaps I'm more stupid than I thought, but I can't understand how to get the most from the crossfade functions in Amadeus, particularly the "Crossfade to the left" and Crossfade to the right" variants. Now that Amadeus is available in the App Store and reaching more people of various...

Can't burn without quitting/re-opening Amadeus.

I have OSX 10.6.8. When I load a blank CDR and try to burn a file to CD using Amadeus and my MacBook Pro drive, I get the message from Amadeus "Waiting for Disc Drive". Nothing further happens, so I quit Amadeus and then retry burn and then it works. It's the same every time I try to burn ...

Can I undo "Extend to Crossing"?

After I apply extend to crossing, I don't see an Undo option. Am I missing something or can this not be undone?
