Cannot save a file with a slash in the title

Actually not -- almost certainly Apple provides the API that is used to save file so they don't want you to put slashes in file names. If you want to do it, remember they may stop supporting it in future versions and you will be subject to any bugs that show up in the translation process. Chuck On 3...

Cannot save a file with a slash in the title

Actually, no, the file system does not allow file names with slashes. It encodes file names with slashes to remove/hide the slashes. I suspect the finder allows slashes for legacy reasons. I suspect you are using a USB device -- that is life. You go through a buffer from the USB input to memory and finally from memory back out (highly oversimplified). There may be an option to decrease the size of the buffers with the consequent risk of losing data. Chuck On 3/7/12 10:43 AM, Jürgen Fl...

Question on AP 2

So far I haven't bought AP 2 as only one of my computers will run it. One feature that would probably tip me over the edge is to have the "remove DC offset" function available in the batch processor. Does AP 2 include that function in the batch processor? Why? We scan music and digitize it...

Any Blind users able to help with Amadeus and Voice Over

If it was the "I can Work This" website, I posted the corrected website address http://icanworkthisthing.com/docs/mac_with_voiceover/audio/amadeus_pro_quick_guide.shtml Someplace in the original poster's system, the url got broken into two lines. If this doesn't work, check to make sure th...

Hearing frequencies

I suspect the limits are somewhat artificial. My brother didn't use to be able to stay in the same house with the TV as the IM frequency (30 khz or so) drove him crazy. I had another friend who also was bothered by the IM frequencies but not so severely. Chuck On 1/4/12 9:35 AM, bradenchase wrote: T...

Heat and fan noise with Amadeus playback

Remember AP is scrolling the window and the data while Itunes doesn't. That means lots of rewrites of the screen. Those don't come for free. Possibly if you compressed the window to a narrow width, then the load would be less. Chuck On 12/25/11 2:22 AM, Sir Cecil wrote: I am using a 2010 Macbook Pro...

crossfaiding in 1.5

Read the manual carefully -- don't assume it is going to work like "Peak" -- you are most likely reading the manual through a filter of how things were done and called in Peak. AP probably uses different nomenclature. I think you will find you can do what you want fairly easily if you stop...

crossfaiding in 1.5

Ray, What you want to do is very simple to do in Amadeus. Put file A in stereo track A and File B in stereo track B (I am assuming 1.5 but I am certain that you can do it more-or-less the same way in 2.0) and starting at the same time. Now use the envelope command/whatever to fade out say track A. U...

crossfaiding in 1.5

Certainly one way to do it, but probably not the easiest. Read file A Insert file B directly after A on the same set of tracks. Select the last n seconds of A Do a crossfade to the right. or (or first n seconds of B abd do a crossfade to the left) Or: (this may be hard for Sarah as I think she is vi...

Question of what you want -- you have track A and track B and you want to fade out track A and fade in track B? Sarah, Crossfading left and right may do what you want. crossfade left means take a selection and crossfade it to an equal time to the left. Similarly for crossfade right. Does this do what you want to do or do you want to do something different? Chuck On 11/21/11 11:10 AM, Sarah Alawami wrote: Hell...

FEATURE REQUEST - gradual / incremental speed control

Years ago I wrote a little C program to do this -- it wasn't very hard as it was the first (and last) C program I ever wrote. I used Amadeus to dump the raw data, manipulated the data using C and then read it back in as raw data to AP. Don't know what problems one would have in converting it as I ex...

Trying to get a nice clean sound

I only AP 1.5.x but on that you go to effects -> denoising --> suppress frequency band. You may well also have the overtones 50, 100, 150 ... or possibily 50 150 250 ...
