converting 24 bit to 16 bit files... re-dither?
I searched for 'dither' but didn't find my answer. I often get files from other musicians in 24bit /44.1 kHz Wave files. I would like to end up with 16 bit and dithered properly. Can Pro do this?

Pro running slow... still.
I checked the playback slider... it was in the centre and I had not touched the 'up / down' arrows. It only happens the first time I press play after loading a file.

I am running Pro on a current Core 2 Duo 1.83 GHz Mini with 2 GB of ram and system OSX 10.5.5. When I first load a sound file (Wave, Aiff, mp3 or mp4) and press the space bar to play... the file plays down in pitch and slow in speed. I press 'stop' and then 'play' again and playback is now normal. M...
