Normalize settings above 100%

Some weeks ago, Mulepose referred to using 100-120% as ordinary Normalize settings. I use 98% because that is about as high as I can go without clipping. Does the clipping that one probably gets at higher numbers not produce distorted audio? Thanks. CP _______________________________________________...

Terrible noise after normalizing in ver. 1.4.3

Mulepose (or anyone), this is OT but I was interested that your ordinary Normalize settings are 100-120%. I use 98% because that is about as high as I can go without clipping. Does the clipping that you [probably] get at higher numbers not produce distorted audio? Thanks. CP ________________________...

[ANN] Version 1.4

clicking Cancel in either one still causes the file to be sent to iTunes. You are right, thanks. This will be fixed in 1.4.1. USB turntable & System Preferences

If all goes well, I expect to get a USB turntable tomorrow. I want to use it to record and then edit LPs in Amadeus. When I plug the turntable cable into a USB port, will it show up under Sound>Input in System Preferences? Does a USB turntable produce the "hum" that a traditional turntable...

Reply to Heaton's External Interface post

Sonic, I am overwhelmed. Thank you for taking the time to respond in such detail. You have given me much to think about. I hope I may ask a follow-up question or two, even though unrelated to Amadeus except that the finished product will be processed on AP. The originals of the cassettes I want to d...

Recording cassette/LP audio; external interface desirable?

I want to use Amadeus Pro to capture the audio of LPs and cassettes. I have a usb turntable for the LPs and a deck for the cassettes. I have recorded some cassettes directly from deck to iMac and have been generally satisfied with the results. But I have read that using an external audio-capture dev...

Poor recording quality

What happens if you connect something like a cassette recorder to the line inputs and record - do you get the same problem? If not, then there may be a problem with the microphone or its lead. Can you describe the sound in more detail? Is it a noise, or distortion, or breakup> Incidentally, make su...

some love for martin!~

I have appreciated Martin's helpful attitude and good disposition. For many queries, including my own, he would IMHO be justified in saying RTFM. Instead, he simply and calmly explains (if someone else has not already done so) where a feature is and/or how it works. I use this app daily. It has grea...

Amadeus Pro 1.2 won't quit or run

Gerard, I was unable to restart through the menu, or at least I could not see how to do so, because Amadeus and Safari refused to quit. Thx for comment. Cherrill Cherrill, you seem to have messed up your Mac. Restarting through the menu is a *lot* better than unplugging. But I admit I have had to do...

Amadeus Pro 1.2 won't quit or run

I am having the same experience with Safari. Won't run and won't quit or force quit. Eudora and Word did quit on request. Thx for any help, even tho apparently not an Amadeus issue. Amadeus Pro 1.2 won't quit or run

My Amadeus Pro 1.2 suddenly will not run. It is apparently open and will not quit or force quit either. It shows up in the dock as running but I get no Amadeus screen. I downloaded another copy; same thing. I now have two Pros that say they are open/running but neither works and neither will quit. I...

Converting LPs to mp3: Question re AmadeusPro

I see that Chuck Jonah has already answered you. But I will send this anyway. If it differs from what Chuck said, follow his advice. :) Yes, Amadeus Pro has all the aspects you are looking for. They are all basic Amadeus functions. The fact that you started with LPs seems irrelevant, since you end u...

Batch process query

Is there, by some miracle, a batch process that will remove the left track from every file in a folder and then make the remaining track mono? Thanks. CP No, but you can convert the files to mono which will merge the two tracks. Regards, Martin HairerSoft http://www.hairersoft.com/ Thanks, Martin, ...
