Re: Exception trying to save WAV file

Sorry about the delayed reply - I've been out of town. It's OS X 10.13.6 with the latest security updates on a Mac Pro. I've been editing files since then (but only AIFF) and haven't seen a recurrence.

Exception trying to save WAV file

I'm editing a 24/96 WAV file for a film restoration project; it's not huge, only about 300 MB. I've been saving periodically, of course. Somewhere in the middle, I tried to save it and AP didn't seem to do anything. I tried "Save As" with the same lack of result. Also "Save a Copy&quo...

Sorry about the delay - I will try this on a new account as well as my two spare machines and report back with my findings.

I'll be sending it in a few minutes! Many thanks. FYI, I observed that when I play the AP-exported AAC file via QuickTime Player, the audio has the aforementioned issues; however, if I import the same AAC file back into AP, it plays properly. It may be that the header info is not being interpreted t...

AP 2.7.5 and AAC coding issue?

Running OS X 10.13.6, latest update. When exporting an edited AIFF file as an m4a/AAC file at 192 kbps, I notice the two following issues: 1) iTunes/QT shows the bit rate as 162 kbps. 2) There is an odd modulation, somewhat like an echo, superimposed on the audio when it is played back by an applica...

Wow - I get busy, come back and it's fixed already! Many thanks. It works fine now and I feel silly for not having seen the options menu on the spectrum windows. :( Once again, the only audio tool I ever need.

Sonogram misbehavior on OS X 10.13.6, AP 2.6.1

I was trying to see what the spectrum vs. time looked like on a few AAC encoded audio files today, and got some unexpected behavior from Amadeus Pro. 1) Opened AAC file (encoded by iTunes or by AP, no difference) 2) selected time range (about 20 sec. worth) 3) chose "Analyze->Sonogram" Fir...

Aha! I'm not hallucinating, then. I just had the same exact thing happen to me; the first two tracks of a 3-track CD burned fine, and the last track was 6 seconds of silence. I was able to replicate the error just a few minutes ago, so it's repeatable on my machine at least. As a test for my car CD ...

Envelope gain?

I have a show I taped where the level was far too low in the first minute. I corrected levels on the recorder as quickly as I could, but I now have a section which needs gain applied in a non-smooth manner over a period of ~40 seconds. It looks like the envelope function can only reduce gain. True? ...

I must agree as well. I discovered Peak about the time we moved to OS X, because whatever I was using on OS 9 didn't make the jump. Peak was never a very stable app, and even with V4 it still crashes out occasionally. Worse yet, V5 introduced hardware copy protection and jacked up the price by an ob...

I vastly prefer the free C3 multiband compressor from SlimSlowSlider: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/950.html There are VST and AU versions, so it'll work with many different audio editors. And it's very versatile. Unfortunately, the default presets don't seem to import into Amadeus, so I had to copy d...

For most people and situations, it's probably overkill. Any tool can be mis-used. But it would be handy to have the option.

Feature Request - editing

Actually, I suppose it's possible I missed this feature somewhere, but it's not mentioned in the manual or anywhere evident in the menus. The only thing missing from APro as far as I can tell is a way to edit individual samples. While the repair center is quite useful and fast, inevitably while clea...
