I think I found my answer...If I record my large file and the select a section, copy it, open a new sound file and then paste the selection into it voila I have my smaller files. Please let me know if there another way

How can I easily and quickly portion a sound file into many smaller files? It is easier for me to create one large file during recording and then go back and section it up. Is this possible? Or do I have to make lots of small files as I record?
