Re: Sound adjusting?

Instead of amplifying quiet segments by hand, you might want to play with the multiband compressor, Effects -> Audio Units -> AUMultibandCompressor. Best,

Re: Audiobook Recording For ACX

The first five items are quite self-explanatory. You can adjust the peak value by using the "Effects -> Normalize" function. You'll want to set "Maximal sample value" to something below -3dB, so just try -4dB for example. You can then check on RMS by selecting Analyze -> Waveform Statistics and look...

Re: UV22HR

At the moment, the conversion from floating point data (for editing) to 16-bit integers is done by simply rounding off. I do plan to add the option of adding a dither in the next major update.

Re: Spectral view

I see. I guess the closest to that would be the "Suppress Frequency Band" function in Effects -> Denoising. Once you've found the segment with the artefact, you can check what frequencies it spans in the sonogram and then use this function to suppress them.

Re: Spectral view

Yes, that's what I mean, the "sonogram" gives you exactly that view and then, when you want to perform an edit, you can just command-click to go to the corresponding location in the original sound. It's not as sleek as having it built into the main sound window I guess, but it should still be a work...

Re: Spectral view

Are you aware that if you command-click somewhere in a sonogram it jumps to that location in the original sound file? Doesn't that already fit your workflow? Best,

Re: Spectral view

Just out of curiosity: in what sort of context do you find spectral view useful for editing? Since spectral information is obtained by forming time averages, it necessarily has very poor temporal resolution so I would have thought that it is rather inconvenient for edits... Best,

Re: Spectral view

Hi, I don't have any plans for a spectral view at the moment, sorry. The reason is just the lack of demand for it, you're actually the first user ever to ask for it... Thanks for the heads-up regarding the forum, it has been in need of a refresh for quite some time now :-) Best wishes,

Real-time audio effects

Apparently real-time audio effects setup via the 'gear' at the right end of the track only apply to audio playback, and are not applied when saving the track, or bounce document to new file. True? No, they should get applied when saving or bouncing, otherwise this is a bug. Which format are you try...

Why can\'t I convert base 16-bit 16 Khz file and twin MP3 fi

OK, so this not actually a valid Wave file: for example you can see that QuickTime player refuses to play it. Either the recording device is horribly buggy or the recording was interrupted prematurely without the device having the opportunity to fix the file's headers. Fortunately, the way in which ...

Why can\'t I convert base 16-bit 16 Khz file and twin MP3 fi

I think I really need to have access to one of your files to be able to reproduce this as exporting a 16kHz file to Mp3 appears to work perfectly fine for me. Could you send me a Dropbox or WeTransfer link to the problematic file to martin@hairersoft.com, as well as the precise Mp3 settings you've b...

Why can\'t I convert base 16-bit 16 Khz file and twin MP3 fi

Could you send me a link to a sample Wave file that shows this behaviour together with *precise* step-by-step instructions on how to trigger the problem? Regards,

Martin
