Just reporting back that we have run the test.
By comparing, I notice some slight difference in tonality. But since on one else is comparing, the differences don't matter.
This saves him considerable upload and download time.
Many thanks,
Jemel

I'm not sure what FLAC does, but I do have Audacity, so I can look it up.Sonic Purity wrote:I’m guessing that Audacity does FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec), and we know Amadeus does, so that could possibly be another option, especially if the quality has to be top-notch or close.

Will audio keep quality if we upload/download mp3 & edit
I'm sure there is an easy answer to this question. I have understood that when saving to mp3 and then back to wave or amad or aiff, quality is lost. Here's the situation: I record and edit on Amadeus Pro using my Mac. My employee is on Windows using Audacity. We do the file transfer by uploading/dow...

Re: Navigation in Amadeus pro
Hi, I find navigating in Amadeus pro rather complicated. It jumps back to the beginning when I don't want it too, etc.. Maybe I'm not used to the software yet. Are their tricks I should know? LOL. I did laugh when I read this. At first it seemed strange to me, also. Now I am so accustomed to the sh...

Re: Levelator
Excellent, Wizardgold
I downloaded it last night and did a test and noticed the difference. It is very smart software.
Thanks,
Jemel

Re: Levelator
Save the file off as a a AIFF or WAV file and drop it onto the levelator application which is free. Works a treat and easy too... Can you clarify, please, Wizardgold, do you mean to save file as a AIFF or WAV file immediately? In other words, do this as an alternative to the process suggested above...

Thanks!
This is an excellent tutorial, rfwilmut
I see I will have to experiment to get it just the way I want it. But with my quick run through, I get it!
Many thanks,
Jemel

How do I equalize the volumes of two speaking voices?
Hi,
I'm recording interviews over a phone line. My voice is always strong and clear, but the volume of the person who is interviewing me is not as strong.
Is this a problem that can be corrected using Amadeus Pro or is it another software or plugin?
Thanks, Jemel

Re: De-echoing my studio closet
Thanks, rfwilmut, for your very helpful post. I know that I will refer to it often as I continue to experiment. I only make one change at a time and then test.
Thanks,
Jemel

Re: De-echoing my studio closet
Thanks Gerard, That box is a fascinating invention. I might be able to use it. I stand, though, I don't sit. I put my recorder on a small tripod which I have taped to an analog mic stand. Yes, I'll keep experimenting. I have 30 (and counting!) test recordings, each documented with the changes I've m...

De-echoing my studio closet
I'm looking for ideas that will help me to make my little studio a better sound chamber for recording. It has 2 walls that are 9 inch thick poured cement, one wall to an adjoining room, and a wooden door and regular wall on the fourth side. I've draped a porous bedspread over the door. I have lots o...

LOL. Brilliant answer. Not what I was hoping to hear, but most appreciative of a speedy reply.Martin Hairer wrote:I am afraid that while it is trivial to add an echo, it is basically

Removing echo on recording
There is a slight echo on my recording. I thought I would be able to adjust that by using the Echo feature in the Effects menu. However, I notice little change in sound no matter what number I place in the field.
Is there a way to remove an echo?
Thanks,
Jemel
