CD on Mac

Post by Phil Sauve »

When I engrave a CD in aiff format (Amadeus Pro) with my Mac (10.5) it will not play on my old CD player. The same CD will play if engraved with Toast. May be I'd rather be on a Mac Forum?

Audio CD's are not the same as Data CD's. The Finder will always
create a Data CD, and this will not play on most CD players (except on
some more recent ones).

You can create an Audio CD directly from within Amadeus Pro by hitting
the "burn" button. You can also use iTunes for it if you prefer.

Audio CD on Mac

The statement was made that he had a AIFf format for a CD is this the proper format for listening to my m4a on a CD player?

I have an m4a file and Amadeus Po will not burn it.
From another question, I was told that I need to change the sampling to 44.1, but still am not sure what format the file should be saved in to play on my CD player or anyone else's for that matter.

Further, are you saying that if I have an m4a file and want it to play on my CD player iTunes will burn it properly to do so with out me adjusting it? Will it convert it to the correct format?

Thanks!

As I said before: just try it. Blank cd's are cheap.

I think iTunes will burn your m4a to a cd.

I think Amadeus will do it after you convert it to 44.1 KHz (just convert it for the burning and keep your original)

gerard (who has used aiff's and Apple Lossless as sources to burn cd's)
