Scenario:
I open an .mp3 in Amadeus, for a fairly extensive round of small edits. I
intend for the finished file to also be in .mp3 mode.
Question:
If I save the file periodically, all the while keeping it in .mp3 mode, will
I incur any more loss of data than if I were to open the .mp3, save (and
resave) it as an .aiff while working on it, and then resave as an .mp3 for
the final file?
Rationale:
By keeping the file in .mp3 mode I retain the metadata (tags). If this
method does increase the overall loss of data, it will not be worth it, but
if it does not it will allow me to avoid having to reenter tag info for
files I've already tagged.
All thoughts on the matter gratefully considered!

It won't make any difference, provided that you don't close and reopenQuestion:

the file
in Amadeus Pro.
Tags are preserved even in AIFF files. Even better, use the AmadeusRationale:

Pro format
for intermediate saves. This saves an exact snapshot of the working
copy, including
all metadata, track layout, etc. Regards,
