Sorry. I know this came up before. I've apparently lost the postings and "search" has not turned up anything.

My question, as the subject line says, is that, upon playback, I want to be able to see the waveform scrolling past a stationary vertical line in the center of the window. How is this done?

You can check "Display follows playback" and "Continuous scrolling"
in the "General" preferences.
