I would like to record two stereo channels (4 mics). There is a reference to a change made in version 2.2:
Handles full 5:1 sound for both recording and playback
How do you enable it? Also if you record two stereo tracks separately and then combine them, there seems to be no way to save it (i.e. by converting to 5:1 sound or equivalent).

Recording 5:1 sound
Hi,
"Full 5.1" in the "Configuration" menu. This requires an input device that
is able to handle 6 channels simultaneously, and it requires you to previously
assign these channels in the "Advanced Settings" panel of the Sound -> Input
preferences.
save any project without loss of information. The AIFF and WAVE formats
also support files with more than two channels. Most compressed formats
(like Mp3) are limited to stereo audio and a document containing more than
two channels will be automatically downmixed. (But the user receives a warning
when this is the case.) Regards,

Recording 5:1 sound
In connection with this, I should like to as this. Suppose I have six .wav files which are stereo and which I have prepared in advance. I want to export them in to a video for 5.1 channel sound. Can I select 5.1 channel from the quality menu and then do the export as 5.1 so that six individual files are saved with each file set to play only in the designated channels once all six files have been incorporated in to the video? What would be the best way to do this? Thanks.
