The manual states that when burning a number of songs to a CD: "The title of a song will be given by the name of the marker which marks the start of the song."

This did not work for me: my CD just has individual files "1 Audio Track.aiff", "2 Audio Track.aiff" etc.

What am I missing?

Thanks.

Did you split the master file according to the markers? IF so, it ought to work for you.

Thanks Raymond. I thought your response was correct as I had not split the file at the markers; however I have now done that but the result after burning is still the same. Also, after burning, the CD is simply called "Audio CD" rather than the actual title I entered in the burn dialog's CD-TEXT Data title field.

Any further thoughts? Thanks.

You'll only see CD-TEXT data if you read your CD with a CD player that actually reads that data. The Mac doesn't actually do that, but instead tries to match track lengths to a database and then pulls the titles from there. Regards,

Martin

Thanks Martin, but I'm not even talking about seeing the track names on a CD player. They are just "1 Audio Track.aiff" etc. when the disk is mounted on the Mac desktop. Are you suggesting those are "translated" into the correct titles when viewed on the right type of CD player? Thank you.

That's right. The Mac does not read the CD-TEXT data, and therefore simply displays the titles as "1 Audio Track", etc if it doesn't find a matching database entry. Regards,

Martin
