Splitting an m4a file

Post by RobLewis »

I have a live concert recording in m4a format that I simply want to split into individual song files. The manual doesn't seem to address this. Could you post a "recipe" for doing this?

Although I suspect Amadeus may not do what I want: split the file without decompressing and re-encoding it. True? Can you recommend software that can do this?

You can place markers (probably by hand since the automatic function wouldn't work very well
with live recordings) and then use the "Split according to markers" function in the Sound menu.

True. The only Mac software I know that can do this is Fission. Regards,
