I did a little more experimenting, and I have found that the problem only occurs when using both 32 bit and 1024 samples. If I use 24 bit and 1024 samples, it is fine. If I use 32 bit and 512 samples it is fine. A separate problem is that it doesn't record at all above 1024 samples, no matter what bit rate I choose. My interface outputs at 96000 Hz, so that is what I am using for all of these tests. I uploaded before and after files so you can hear what is going on (you have to turn the volume up very high to hear the detail).
This is the pre-processed file: https://files.me.com/mrboma/sw4a2c
And this is after running the noise suppression filter: https://files.me.com/mrboma/9q03gg
The password for both files is: amadeus
