Digitizing vinyl - a tough job

Post by poikkeus »

I've had no problem digitizing vinyl - until now - and I don't know exactly how to proceed.

There are about 15 album tracks to digitize - no problem there. As it happens, however, there's often little or no separation between tracks. The songs will have a short piano insert, followed by a rock song, another piano insert...and so on. If possible, I want to duplicate the sound of the original record, so that the segues are seamless. I want the convenience of the kind of seamless tracks you might find on a CD.

How do I begin doing this on Amadeus? Which effects should I gain proficiency with?

Hmm. I've never tried doing that but maybe try adn put the marker where the piano interlood is and then splitting according to markers and convert the thing to ogg since ogg is gapless.
Also make sure that all your effects / edits are done *before* you
split into tracks and that you don't decode / reencode afterwards.
Regards,

Martin
