CD burn problem

CD burn problem
I loaded a 64-minute WAV file, then selected Burn to Audio CD. I left all boxes unchecked in the popup dialog, then burned it. Twice, following that procedure, I got a CD with single 6-second track. I loaded the file again and examined it, finding a couple of markers (Track 1 and Track 2) that I was unaware of. The first was at end - 6s, the second was at the end. I deleted those, and the CD then burned correctly (I only wanted a single track). Why did the markers cause this problem?

CD burn problem
Because that is how Amadeus Pro does delimit tracks on a CD.Why did the markers cause this problem?
The n th marker denotes the start of the n th track. Regards,
Martin
