Record an AIFF file as 24bit, 88.2kHz. Do a Save As, and as you do, ask for the AIFF to be resampled at 44.1. The window now shows the name of the new file, but the sample rate is still shown as 88.2 even though it is in fact now 44.1.

OK, it's worse than I thought. After the Save As, the window is right - the sample rate for what's in this window *is* still 88.2. To get the 44.1 version you must close the file and open it again even though you are opening the same file. |

That's correct behaviour. The sound open in the document is still at
88.2kHz, it's just that the copy on disk is at 44.1kHz. You can use
Sound -> Characteristics to achieve the behaviour you expect. Regards,

Then perhaps this menu item should not be called "Save As", but rather "Export". "Save As" implies that after the action, the window portrays the saved file. |
