Drag n drop support?

Post by Kainer »

Possible to get drag n drop support for selected parts?
So, that I´m able to drag the selected part directly into another sequencer?
Without havin to save first, then looking for the new sample and load it in the other sequencer.

Why would you need to save it first rather than using copy/paste? (You
can use option-command-V "Paste to new track".) Regards,

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply but
you get me wrong. I want to paste the selected part to another sequencers track. Not back to an other track in Amadeus. With simple Command+C and changing focus to the other program and hitting Command+V this doesn´t work.
Tried it with a couple of shortcuts (shift+command+v, controll+command+v...nothing worked.)

Sorry, I misunderstood you indeed. That's a good idea, let me think
about some way to possibly implement it. Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin, great to hear that you think about it. :)

I asked in the forum of audacity and wavepad for this too. I´m going to buy the waveeditor who gives me the freedom to just drag n drop my sampleparts out of the program.

At Audacity-forum they told me this:

I´ve searched the internet. There is only ONE Wave/Audio-Editor (Image-Line) able to drag a selected part out of the program??
Answer from Irish:
Edison works on audio that is entirely held in RAM. This makes it considerably easier to support this feature. The down-side is that it cannot handle long audio clips.

Irish wrote:
unless you limited it to the standard WAV format, you would have to include a dialog box to specify what format you wanted it in.
Edison highlights this problem:
Editing operations that require sample processing convert the source sample/s into 32-bit float and at the sample rate of the highest wave in any group processed. This means that processed wave files are unlikely to be in the same format as the source samples, although you can set the sample format after you have edited the sample (see the sample properties dialog).

Maybe this helps. There is no answer from wavepad-developers till now.

I use Reaper as my sequencer and need a little waveeditor to manage a few things which are not possible in reaper.
