Sudden crashes; fails to save

Post by peterdcox »

Today I have tried to make some easy edits to an existing file (for broadcast tomorrow! woe is me ...) and suddenly APro is completely misbehaving. It sometimes fails to save the edited file - say with 4 secs to go. I have tried saving in different format - same problems. Even when I can get it to work there are long hangs when nothing happens .. have switched off Spaces .. have tried clean reboots etc .... tried different files ...

Any suggestions?? :x

Try to switch off Time Machine. Sometimes, it blocks all read/write
access to a harddrive, which obviously causes havoc if you're working
with that drive at the same time... Regards,

Well, I think TM (or rather the Iomega HD it's on) may have been the culprit. When I did disk repair ended up with invalid sibling error - tracked that down - and eventually got the disk back on line. Had to erase the old TM backups (what good's that I'm now asking ....?) since it didn't recognise what it had done ... Hey ho

TM now back on - and I'll check Amadeus later when the programme's in the can ....
