Hello,
My coach would like me to use Skype for her to be able to direct me in my headphones while working on recordings. Presently my headphones go from my pre-amp to my headphones in my booth. I find the whole concept a bit mind boggling. And I'm using a Mac to record.
Any help would be welcome!!!
Naomi

Three "levels":
1 - The simplest setup would be to use a smartphone or tablet to handle the skype connection, with an earbud so you can hear the feedback.  Added benefit is that you don't have to wear headphones during recording.  Google voice will also let you record _incoming_ calls so that you can capture audio of the instruction.

2 - You can set up skype so the audio in/out goes through your A/D converter.  This will allow real time audio, but will not let you play back recorded audio to the listener.

3 - You can set up a small mixer so that the playback can be routed to the skype audio signal.  George Whittam has an excellent tutorial posted on how to do this.

As this is less of an Amadeus Pro issue, I'd steer you towards a more general VO recording group on LinkedIn, or dig through the archives of EWABS.  This is a fairly common audio direction setup for home studio voice actors and comes up frequently.

Hope this helps,

- Jim

I can't remember if I replied to this or not but can you not rout skype in put and output to sound flower 2ch and then use garage band to process the thing then use amadeus to record the thing?

Take care.
