How Do You Delete the Tail End of a Clip/Track?
Hello AP Forum,
Question:
How do you Delete the Tail End of a Clip/Track?
When I try to Delete the Tail End (the extreme Right) portion of a Clip/Track, it keeps adding new Waveforms within that parameters of that highlighted area (and nothing deletes)! I am able to delete inside of track, with no problem, but not on the End.
HELP!

Hi,
do you have "Smart editing" turned on in the "Edit" menu? If yes, you might want to turn this off if you want absolute accuracy of your edits. What this function does when you delete the end of a clip / track is that it keeps a small bit and fades it out, so that the sounds doesn't stop so brutally.
If you only want to delete a very short bit to start with, this might give the impression you describe. The length of the bit it keeps can be adjusted in the preferences. Regards,
Martin

Thank you so much, Martin - THAT WAS IT!!
For whatever reason, the "Smart Editing" was checked.
Now that it is unchecked, I have absolute accuracy of my edits
Up till now, in BIAS Peak (before I bought Amadeus Pro), I was used to
using the Fade In/Fade Out tools. But at least now I know that when checking the Smart Editing, it will automatically keep a small bit for a fade out.
I guess my last question in that regard is:
When still in "Smart Editing" mode and you cut off the end of a clip, which part of the audio track is the program keeping (borrowing) for the Fade Out - to the Left or Right of where you Delete the track? To me, it looked like it was keeping parts of the selection that was being Deleted (to the Right).
Many thanks again, Martin!

In principle, it should do "the right thing", i.e. keep only a small bit to the left. However, this is true only if your selection really goes all the way to the end of the track. (You can make sure of this by hitting command right arrow for example.) Otherwise, it will keep a small bit on either side.
