is there a way to let the waveform move back/forwards on the screen, when one drags the playhead a/o the insertion point further out of the visible part of the waveform?
It moves like this when selecting, but this is not always handy.
Thanks

In recording or in playback? If in playback, it is a preference and I
think it is described in the manual.

thanks CDJonah_alt,
but I can't seem to find anything in the manual or the preferences. I still have the impression that it has been possible in the past somehow... :$
And yes, it is especially useful during playback and editing.
Something similar happens when I extend a selection, then it rolls right or left nicely.

I am afraid I have the old version, but in the preference, there is a
"display follows playback" -- the playback head does not always stay
exactly in the middle but very close. I suspect it is done that way to
take the strain off the CPU.
